The Sparco Prime SP-16.1 has been developed using the very latest high-performance material, state of the art technology, and manufacturing processes. Improvements to all the suits ancillaries (cuffs, zip, stretch panels, epaulets, etc) have helped reduce the overall weight of the suit (a size 52 now typically weighs just 740g). The result is that the Prime SP-16.1 is one of the lightest FIA approved race suits available.
Ultra-thin stitching on all decorative items and thinner stitching on structural areas give a flat stitch pattern for improved comfort. Floating arm bellows and lumbar stretch panels are made from a light breathable fabric to help maintain lower body temperature. The suit's outer layer is constructed from Dupont Nomex comfort fabric which has excellent anti-static properties.
